Driving for operators in our network
Richmond Airport Transfers takes bookings from passengers across Richmond upon Thames, and a large share of them are airport runs to Heathrow, Gatwick and beyond. Those journeys are carried out by licensed private hire operators. Some of those operators are looking for reliable PCO drivers who know south-west London.
We are not an operator and we do not hire drivers ourselves. What we can do is pass your details to operators in our network so they can contact you directly.
What you need
- A valid Transport for London private hire (PCO) driver licence
- A full UK driving licence, or one that is valid for this work
- The right to work in the UK
- Access to a PHV-licensed vehicle with hire and reward insurance, or the ability to arrange one (check with the operator)
- A smartphone, as most operators send jobs through an app
- Good knowledge of the Richmond area and the main routes to the airports
The type of work
Work offered by operators may include:
- Heathrow airport runs and transfers to the other London airports
- Station runs to central London terminals
- Local journeys around Richmond, Kew, Twickenham and East Sheen
- Pre-booked school runs, where the operator may ask for extra checks
- Group work if you drive an MPV, such as 6 seater bookings
Pay, commission and working terms are set by each operator, not by us. Ask them for full details before you agree to anything.
How to register your interest

- Your full name and mobile number
- Your PCO licence expiry date
- Your vehicle type (saloon, executive, MPV or minibus), or say if you do not have one
- The days and times you are available
- The areas you prefer to work in
Do not email copies of your licences or ID documents at this stage. The operator will tell you how to share them securely if they want to take your application further.
