We are a Cab Facilitator, connecting the passengers with the licenced Minicab and Taxi service providers in the UK, with best interests of both parties.

Getting around with your pet

Not every car can take a pet. Some drivers have allergies, and some vehicles are not suitable for larger dogs. When you book a pet friendly taxi in Richmond, we look for an operator that accepts animals, so there are no surprises when the car arrives.

Richmond is a great place for dog owners, with Richmond Park, Kew Green, the riverside paths and plenty of commons. But there are times when you need a car with your pet: a trip to the vet, a stay at kennels, moving house, or getting home after a long walk.

How to book with a pet

When you book online or by phone, tell us:

  • What kind of animal it is, and roughly how big.
  • How many pets are travelling.
  • Whether your pet will be in a carrier or crate, or on a lead.
  • If your pet is nervous, unwell or recovering from an operation.

This lets us match you with a suitable operator and vehicle. Please do not bring a pet without mentioning it, as the driver may not be able to take it.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are different. Under the Equality Act 2010, licensed private hire drivers must carry assistance dogs at no extra charge, unless they hold a medical exemption certificate. You do not need to book a pet friendly car for an assistance dog, but it helps to mention it.

Tips for a smooth trip

  1. Cats and small pets should travel in a secure carrier.
  2. Dogs should be on a lead and, ideally, sit in the footwell or on a blanket.
  3. Bring a towel or blanket if your dog is wet or muddy from the park.
  4. Take a short walk before a longer trip so your dog is settled.
  5. Bring water for longer journeys.

Extra cleaning may be charged if a pet leaves a vehicle very dirty, so a blanket is a good idea.

Common journeys

  • The vet for check-ups, vaccinations or operations.
  • Kennels and catteries before a holiday. You might then want an airport transfer afterwards.
  • Grooming appointments.
  • Moving house with your pets.
  • Days out to parks and open spaces further from home.

Vehicles

For a small dog or a cat in a carrier, a saloon is usually fine. For a large dog, or a dog plus luggage, an MPV gives more room. For a family with a dog, see our 6 seater taxi page.

Areas covered

We arrange pet friendly trips across the area, including Ham and Petersham near Richmond Park, Barnes and Kew. For other trips, see our school run and hotel transfer services.
