A reliable lift to school
Mornings in Richmond can be hectic. Roads around many schools are busy at drop-off time, parking is limited, and juggling work with two school gates is hard. A school run taxi in Richmond gives you a regular, pre-booked car at the same time each day, so you know how your child is getting there and back.
We are a booking facilitator, so your school run is carried out by a licensed private hire operator. We help you set it up and stay your point of contact.
Who uses school runs?
- Working parents who cannot do one or both of the daily runs.
- Families with children at different schools, where one parent cannot be in two places.
- Children with a long or awkward journey by bus.
- Short-term cover, for example after an injury, a house move or while a car is off the road.
How setting up a school run works
- Call us on the number at the top of the page, or send the details online.
- Tell us the school, your home address, the days and the times you need, and the child's age.
- Mention any special needs, such as a child seat or booster, or a child who needs extra support.
- We pass the details to a suitable licensed operator and confirm the arrangements with you.
- The same pick-up times are then kept for the term, unless you ask to change them.
Safety and child seats
Under UK law, children must normally use the right child car seat until they are 12 years old or 135cm tall, whichever comes first. There are some exceptions for licensed private hire vehicles, but we strongly recommend the right seat for younger children. When you book, say whether you need a child seat or booster. If the operator cannot provide one, you can give your own to the driver.
Before the first trip, it is worth agreeing:
- Who will hand the child over at the school gate, and who will meet them at home.
- What happens if the child is not at the pick-up point at the agreed time.
- A contact number for the parent that will always be answered.
Many schools also like to know who will be collecting a child. Tell the school office about the arrangement.

Changes and holidays
Let us know about term dates, inset days and school trips as early as you can, so the bookings can be adjusted. If your child is ill and will not need the car, call us as soon as possible, ideally the evening before.
